Kristin Tofanelli, Kappa Mu, Announced as Executive Director

The Phi Mu Foundation Board of Trustees announced today that Kristin Tofanelli, Kappa Mu, will serve as the Foundation’s next Executive Director.

Kristin began her journey with the Foundation in 2006 as an intern under the seasoned leadership of Past Foundation President Shellye Stanley McCarty, Alpha Delta, and Past Foundation Executive Director Susan Logan, Upsilon. After going on to receive her Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia Southern University, Kristin spent her early career as a Director of Sales and Marketing before she returned to Phi Mu Foundation in 2013 to serve as its Director of Development.

In this role, Kristin has led a robust, year-around annual fundraising program, including numerous campaigns and integrated traditional and digital solicitations. Her leadership has resulted in consistent year-over-year growth in unrestricted contributions from approximately $660,000 in 2013 to more than $1,000,000 in 2018.

Reflecting on her career with Phi Mu Foundation, Kristin shared what the opportunity to lead this organization means to her.

“Every day as I walk into the National Headquarters, I am reminded of the same feeling that I felt attending the ribbon dedication in 2005 – a heartfelt sense of pride that through the work of Phi Mu Foundation, hundreds of thousands of Phi Mu women are empowered and have the tools they need to achieve their personal best. When we invest in the Phi Mu experience and in our members, we are helping to create a stronger sisterhood and ultimately, a stronger society.”

Kristin will assume the position of Executive Director immediately, reporting to the Board of Trustees and overseeing the Foundation staff at the Phi Mu National Headquarters in Peachtree City, Georgia. Her former duties as Director of Development will be temporarily assumed by the Foundation staff until a permanent replacement is secured.
