Philanthropy

Since 1986, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropy.  There are 170 children’s hospitals nationwide that benefit from local collegiate and alumnae chapter involvement. Funds have been raised through a variety of events including dance marathons, golf tournaments, cook-offs and many more.  As a national partner with CMN Hospitals, Phi Mu has committed to contribute at least $500,000 annually, with each collegiate and alumnae chapter responsible for raising funds for CMN Hospitals.

Most recently, Phi Mu was recognized as a member of the Million Miracle Club for raising more than $1 million for CMN Hospitals in 2016.

“It’s difficult to really comprehend what all the fundraising for CMN Hospitals means until you see the kids and their families and what this means to them. It’s then that it hits home and makes you realize how important the work you are doing really is.”

National Philanthropy Day

In 1999, Phi Mu was the first Greek-letter organization to introduce National Philanthropy Day – a nationwide day of hands on service. Held on the third Monday of October each year, Phi Mu encourages its members across the country to get involved in National Philanthropy Day by living their Creed and connecting with the areas of greatest need in their community.
