Sisterhood Auction: Bidding for the Future!

sisterhood auction

This year, we are combining Phi Mu Foundation Marketplace and the Trestrella Auction to create an exciting, more impactful Sisterhood Auction! Since the auction is open to the convention body, all donations and price points are welcome!

As in the past, we’ll rely on the generosity of our donors to help us solicit auction items for this exciting event! If you are interested in curating an item for the auction, please fill out this form and send a photo of the item to Foundation Stewardship & Engagement Coordinator Mary Askew at maskew@phimu.org by Thursday, June 30. Sending in your information by the June 30 deadline will ensure your giving levels are updated and proper donor recognition can be given at Convention.

Donors will be responsible for bringing their item(s) to Convention and checking them in with Foundation staff upon arrival on July 5. This year, we request items are unwrapped and not in a basket due to shipping issues in the past.

All proceeds from the Sisterhood Auction directly benefit our mission to further the lifetime development of Phi Mu women by providing essential support of leadership, scholarship, philanthropic and educational programs, and historic preservation.

Thank you for your continued support of Phi Mu Foundation! We look forward to seeing you in #PhiTown!

Get to Know our Foundation Interns!

Can you think of a better way to spend your summer than interning at the Phi Mu National Headquarters? Neither can these two women – Lexi Artman, Delta, and Jackie Brideau, Kappa Omicron!

Lexi and Jackie have joined the Phi Mu Foundation staff this summer to learn more about furthering the lifetime development of women through all of the various programs of the Foundation. From donor relations to event planning to fundraising – Lexi and Jackie will have the opportunity to see how we’re investing in our members and our sisterhood each and every day.

“As philanthropy chair for my chapter, I thought I knew a lot about the Phi Mu Foundation … but I’ve learned so much more since securing this internship! From leadership opportunities to scholarships to historic preservation, Phi Mu Foundation’s efforts are fundamental to all members,” says Lexi.Lexi Artman Photograph

Lexi and Jackie are already hard at work with their first keystone project – managing the sales and promotion of Caring Carnations for the 2016 Phi Mu National Convention. In 2014, Phi Mu Foundation sold more than 8,800 Caring Carnations, and we anticipate exceeding that number this year due to the exciting addition of the Golden Quatrefoil. There’s no doubt these two have their work cut out for them, leading the way on one of Phi Mu’s most popular and beloved Convention traditions!

Jackie says, “Interning with Phi Mu Foundation is providing me with a whole new perspective of Phi Mu. It’s easy to get excited and fundraise for the M3 Campaign, and but you never stop and think about what happens behind the scenes to help bring those things to life! Together, the Foundation and the Fraternity make so much possible for our members, and I love being a part of that.”

Jackie Brideau

Please join us in welcoming Lexi and Jackie to the team, and be sure to stop by the Phi Mu Foundation check-in desk in Chicago to wish them a wonderful first Convention experience!

Our Foundation Team is Growing!

Please join us in welcoming our newest additions to the Phi Mu Foundation team – Leinin Schuerr, Kappa Sigma, and Mary Askew, Alpha Kappa! Fresh off the road from serving as Phi Mu Chapter Consultants, these two bring an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Leinin will serve as our Development and Marketing Coordinator, and Mary as our Stewardship and Engagement Coordinator – both beginning next month.

leininLeinin Schuerr, Development & Marketing Coordinator

Leinin is a vibrant Phi Mu spirit, amazingly talented with design and brand management, who will help to elevate the Foundation’s marketing and communications efforts.

After graduating from Jacksonville State University with a degree in graphic design and photography, she served for a year as the university’s assistant designer creating marketing collateral for alumni outreach and collegiate programming.

Most recently, she spent two years as a Chapter Consultant with Phi Mu reaching over 2,000 women at more than 30 chapters.

maryMary Askew, Stewardship & Engagement Coordinator

Mary is a high energy relationship-builder who joins the Foundation team after serving for two years as a Chapter Consultant with Phi Mu Fraternity.

She has consulted and facilitated trainings with more than 45 collegiate Phi Mu chapters to support recruitment and operations.  Most recently she led the opening and installment of Phi Mu’s chapter at California State University – Sacramento.

With a variety of experience in event planning, Mary graduated from the College of Charleston with degrees in Hospitality & Tourism Management and Business Administration. She also completed an internship with Aramark on campus, coordinating catering and hospitality for campus events.

We are thrilled to welcome Leinin Schuerr and Mary Askew to the Phi Mu Foundation Team.

2016 M3 Campaign 100% Participation Chapters

An important element of our annual M3 Campaign is the collegiate chapter challenge to participate in the campaign at 100%. Chapters that garner the title of 100% Participation Chapters have enlisted 100% of their active members to contribute $18.52 to Phi Mu Foundation during the month of March, in honor of our Founders.

This year, we had more collegiate chapters participate at 100% than ever before! A record-breaking 126 collegiate chapters accepted the challenge and delivered on their commitment to make a contribution of at least $18.52 per active member.

We are proud of the hard work and dedication put in by these chapters to help meet this stretch goal, and are thankful for each and every donor who supports “Sisters Helping Sisters!’
