Meet the Trustees

We’re launching a multi-part series this summer called #MeetTheMus, where we’ll introduce one of our Phi Mu Foundation Trustees each week, and give you an inside peek at what drives their passion for the lifetime development of Phi Mu women.

Our Trustee spotlight for this week is Phi Mu Foundation President and Past National President Kris Shetler Bridges, Delta Nu!

What made your collegiate Phi Mu experience special?

There are so many experiences that made my collegiate experience special … making lifelong friends, learning to work together to accomplish a goal, learning about other cultures and experiences.  My collegiate experience was special because of the women in my chapter and the bond we shared.

What (or who) influenced you to give back to Phi Mu as an alumnae volunteer?

Phi Mu has given me so much!  I was hired as a chapter consultant and my father said it was only appropriate that Phi Mu gave me a job, I majored in Phi Mu in college!  I wanted to give back to an organization that made such a difference in my life and to help make a difference in the lives of other women.  I am inspired by the women who have served before me including Lynne Bernthal, Ada Martin Henry and Joan Wallem, just to name a few!

How has your journey in Phi Mu impacted the woman that you are today?

Phi Mu has shaped me in so many ways.  I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and giving back to provide an experience that is life changing for other women.

What legacy do you hope to leave for Phi Mu through your work with the Foundation?

I hope to be able to provide more scholarships to assist our members in completing their educations, assist more sisters in need through the Leona Hughes Hughes Heart & Hand Fund, create a culture of philanthropy and preserve our rich history!

What would you tell a young alumna about why she should invest with the Foundation?

Your donations make a difference to help women!  Continue to give to Phi Mu to make the experience even stronger for those who come after you!

What is your favorite Phi Mu tradition?

Our history and our ritual!!  I also love being able to present an etiquette dinner for Phi Mu Chapter Consultants during their training combining etiquette and Phi Mu traditions!

What is your favorite song on the radio right now?

So many!  My satellite radio is always set to 80’s music but, I love new music also.  It’s probably something about salt air and the beach as we are moving to the Florida Gulf Coast full-time this summer!

What book is on your summer reading list?

Decorating books! Decorating our new beach home is my obsession right now!
