Phi Mu Foundation Announces New Director of Major Gifts Mandi Capeletti Young, Alpha Epsilon

Mandi-for-homepagePhi Mu Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of the newest staff member, Mandi Capeletti Young, Alpha Epsilon, in the position of Director of Major Gifts.

Mandi holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Master of Science in Higher Education from Florida State University (FSU), where she was an active member of Phi Mu’s Alpha Epsilon Chapter. Mandi brings 10+ years of alumni relations and fundraising experience, specifically in major gifts and annual giving. Most recently, Mandi served as the Senior Director for Alumni Programs and Outreach at FSU. Prior to this position, Mandi worked at FSU as the Senior Annual Giving Officer and at Southern Methodist University as the Director of Development, National Major Gifts.

In the newly developed position at Phi Mu Foundation, Mandi will direct the cultivation and acquisition of major gifts and planned gifts and will implement and direct targeted major gift campaigns.

“We are excited to establish the Director of Major Gifts position and have Mandi fulfill this role. Her alumni relations and major gift experience coupled with her devotion to Phi Mu Fraternity as a volunteer and to Phi Mu Foundation as a faithful member of the Legacy League Giving Program made Mandi an attractive candidate. Her unique skill set will be a valuable asset to the Foundation staff,” said Julie Burkhard, Phi Mu Foundation Executive Director.

Mandi will join the staff on June 9, 2014 and will be attending Phi Mu National Convention in Boca Raton, Florida in July 2014.

The 53rd National Convention will be held July 2-5 at The Boca Raton Resort & Club, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, in Boca Raton, Florida. Phi Mu Foundation has planned a full schedule of receptions and sisterhood events, including the Sisterhood luncheon, Giving Program Member Reception, Trestrella Auction, and much more. Nominating Committee Announces Slate of Trustees

Joan Wallem, Chairman, Frances Mitchelson and Ann Dahne announce the slate of Trustees for the 2014-2018 term. Many thanks to the faithful members of the Foundation who submitted nominations and to the nominees who agreed to be considered for service on the Foundation Board of Trustees.

Kristin (Kris) Shetler Bridges, Delta Nu
Kris Bridges was initiated into Delta Nu Chapter, Michigan State University. She has served Phi Mu Fraternity in many capacities as both staff and volunteer beginning with the position of National Chapter Consultant 1986-1987. Kris served on the Phi Mu National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Delegation from 2000-2007 and on the NPC Executive Committee as College Panhellenics Chairman 2007-2010. In 2010, Kris was elected Phi Mu Fraternity National President and with that position served as the Chairman of the Board of Phi Mu Foundation. Kris has worked for several companies including work as a legal abstractor and for Martha White Foods, Inc utilizing her degree in Communication with emphasis in Marketing and Sales.

Diane Hawkins Eggert, Zeta Iota
Diane Eggert was initiated into Zeta Iota Chapter, North Dakota State University. She has served Phi Mu in the areas of alumnae, as an area officer, on the National Council and on the Foundation Board of Trustees. Diane completed two terms on the National Council in 2010 as Vice President Finance. Elected to the position of Trustee in 2010, she served a four year term the first two years as Foundation Vice President of Special Projects and the final two years as Foundation President. Diane is a Certified Public Accountant and worked for the Federal Government for 23 years in the areas of finance, administrative services, travel and relocation.

Sharon Sudbury Staley, Alpha Chi
Sharon Staley was initiated into Alpha Chi Chapter, Texas Tech University. Sharon has served both the collegiate and alumnae areas in many positions. As an alumnae adviser, she served the Alpha Pi Chapter, University of Houston, for six years and as the Alpha Pi House Corporation Board Vice President and President. Sharon was elected to the Foundation Board of Trustees in 2010 and served a four year term in the position of Foundation Vice President Donor Relations. Sharon is a professional interior designer and carries the FASID distinction, Fellow member of American Society of Interior Designers.

The proposed slate for the position of Trustee will be formally presented at the National Convention in July 2014.
