Preparing for the 2021 M3 Campaign
Phi Mu Foundation is preparing for the launch of its annual M3 Campaign on Monday, March 1 and we’re encouraging chapters to support the M3 Campaign with a fundraising plan that makes sense for their membership this spring. Below are some tips to help your chapters determine their participation in the campaign this year:
Phi Mu Program About Phi Mu Foundation
Presenting the Phi Mu Program about Phi Mu Foundation before the launch of the M3 Campaign on March 1 will help members best understand the mission of Phi Mu Foundation and how campaigns like M3 help us reinvest in our members. The Phi Mu Foundation Program can be found on the Phi Mu Resource Hub under The Radiance Program/Phi Mu Programs.
Determine Participation Plan
Participating in the M3 Campaign is optional. Chapters may elect to make a general contribution to the M3 Campaign or to participate at 100%, which means each initiated member is committed to fundraising and/or making an individual contribution of $18.52 or more to the campaign in the month of March. Every chapter with 100% participation will receive a free Phi Mu Foundation T-shirt for each member.
Fundraising Tips
Chapters can reach 100% participation in the M3 Campaign in a variety of ways, but we encourage you to consider fundraising as your first option. A list of virtual and socially-distanced fundraising tips and marketing materials can be found on the Phi Mu Foundation Document Library under the M3 Toolkit. Your chapter may also use funds originally budgeted to host a fundraiser to make your contribution to the campaign.
Chapters are encouraged to use CrowdChange to fundraise for Phi Mu Foundation. If your chapter needs help setting up your CrowdChange page or would like a refresher on how to use CrowdChange, there is a training session for Philanthropy Chairwomen on Feb. 21. You can click here to register.
If your chapter hosts multiple fundraisers for the Campaign, you should add each individual fundraiser to your Officer Portal calendar and complete the Post-Event Forms.
Contributing to Phi Mu Foundation
Beginning on March 1, chapters can submit contributions in a few ways:
- Make the contribution using Billhighway online bill pay;
- Send in ONE check to Phi Mu Foundation for the sum of their contributions; or
- Use the chapter Billhighway card to make the contribution at www.phimufoundation.org/give. The chapter will need to make sure the contribution does not exceed the card limit if using this option.
If your chapter is participating at 100% and is mailing a check, make sure that it is postmarked by March 25 to ensure you receive your free T-shirts before summer.
After the chapter sends in its contribution, an officer also needs to fill out the 2021 M3 Campaign Donation to Phi Mu Foundation Form on Officer Portal. This is an open form that is available for the President, Treasurer or Philanthropy Chairwoman to complete and submit. The detail in this form is important for tracking participation, especially for those chapters that are participating at 100%.
Chapters who are hosting fundraisers to support their contributions to the M3 Campaign should also add those fundraisers as events on the chapter’s OP calendar and fill out the Post-Event Form.
Once the chapter’s contribution is received and the OP Form has been approved, Phi Mu Foundation staff will reach out to the Chapter President and Chapter Treasurer at chapters with 100% participation to secure T-shirt orders.
We’re encouraging members to post photos and videos on social media that highlight how they are supporting the M3 Campaign. Tag @PhiMuFoundation and use the Campaign hashtag #Give1852!
